As a professor, I have witnessed the irresponsibility of so many students who fail to turn in course assignments in a timely manner, resulting in failing final grades. As a college student it is imperative to submit work on time. College professors have a lot of responsibilities and teach numerous courses, the syllabus is the point of reference for students regarding due dates, and grade percentages. Don't mistake your excuses as emergencies, take action, remain organized and turn work in. This will make the semester run smoothly for you and your professor.
